About drainage of doors and windows

Do windows also need to drain? Of course! Even the most traditional doors and windows have a basic drainage design.

In the aluminum door and window structure, although various sealing systems are installed on the profile and glass, the tiny gap at the interface is inevitable.

When it rains, the rainwater on the glass constantly seeps into the gaps. If the drainage system is not perfect, the accumulated rainwater will affect the service life of the glass and profiles, and it will pour into the room when the rain is too heavy.

1. Drainage design of system doors and windows

Principle of equal pressure

Whether the drainage of doors and windows is good, reasonable design is the prerequisite, and a systematic, complete and reliable independent regional drainage channel is the key.

When the air pressure in the isobaric chamber is greater than or equal to the outdoors, the accumulated water is quickly discharged to the outdoors through the drainage holes;

When the air pressure in the isobaric chamber is lower than the outdoors, the drainage of rainwater will be blocked, and the accumulated water will stay;

When the stagnant water rises to the gap of the inner sealing band, the function of the isobar will fail, and the watertightness of the window will also fail.

In fact, the drainage performance of the doors and windows of the system is closely related to the sealing system. Only when watertight, airtight and drainage channel designs are done at the same time, can the drainage problem of doors and windows be solved in a true sense.
